Tamil filmmaker Seenu Ramasamy on Thursday announced that he’s separating from his wife GS Dharshana after 17 years of marriage.
In a statement posted on X, the director that they have consented for a mutual divorce. “We have decided to walk on separate paths. Henceforth, our actions will not hold each other responsible and we are both aware of the same,” read the statement.
“We have approached the Madras High Court to grant us divorce. Your wishes, respecting our privacy and rights, will strengthen us further,” the statement added.
Seenu Ramasamy made his directorial debut with 2007’s Koodal Nagar, starring Bharath, Bhavana and Sandhya. The director found his break in his sophomore film, 2010’sThenmerku Paruvakaatru, which marked Vijay Sethupathi’s debut as a lead.
Since then, the director has helmed many noteworthy films such as Neerparavai (2012),Dharma Durai(2016), and Maamanithan (2022).
