Mahindra unveils e-three-wheeler Udo at ₹3.84 lakh to boost last mile mobility Business News & Hub

Mahindra Last Mile Mobility on Thursday unveiled electric three-wheeler Mahindra Udo, a product from its manufacturing plant in Zaheerabad, Telangana, in which the Group committed an investment of ₹1,000 crore three years ago.

While the commitment is ₹1,000 crore for a period of more than eight years, ₹500 crore has already been invested in the plant, including automated battery assembly as well as robotised production lines. The proposed capacity of the plant is two lakh vehicles.

“We are ready to produce several thousand units… ramping up production as we speak,” Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Suman Mishra said at a media interaction at Udo launch in Hyderabad on Thursday.

The company is eyeing a bigger play in the electric-3-wheeler segment on the back of Udo’s design and features to enhance passenger and driver comfort, real world range of 200 km as well as warranty of 1.5 lakh km or six years, whichever is earlier. The vehicle is all set to expand electrification in the L5M auto category and priced at a little over ₹3.84 lakh ex-showroom. For a limited period, it will come for ₹3,58,999.

The vehicle’s features includes regenerative braking, reverse throttle and hill-hold assist.
