A fine comeback by Kerala Police saw it chalk out a 4-1 win over Kovalam FC in the TDFA Elite division football league at the GV Raja Sports School turf ground here on Saturday (June 14, 2025).
After going down by a Shahin’s eighth-minute strike, Kerala Police hit back through Babble’s brace (15& 18) in the first half. Sreeraj (63) and Jimshad (78) scored again for the Kerala Police in the second half. Kerala Tigers held SBI to a goalless draw in the second match.
Kasaragod begins with a win
Kasaragod: Host Kasaragod started its campaign on a winning note in the State sub-junior girls hockey championships here on Saturday.
Kasaragod trounced Kozhikode 4-1 while Alappuzha blanked Kollam 6-0. Thiruvananthapuram beat Palakkad by a solitary goal while favourite SAI, Kollam began with a 2-0 win over Malappuram.
