Flying high: Como, a traditionally tiny club that has spent a lot of time in the lower leagues, has exceeded expectations this season. It currently sits fifth in Serie A.

Forty-five minutes into its match against Serie A leader Inter Milan last weekend, Como was in dreamland. Unbeaten for almost two months and looking to hold on to fourth place and the final Champions League berth, the Cesc Fabregas-coached club was up by two goals.
Inter, which had arrived lakeside looking to take another step towards a 21st league title, had been rocked by the host. Como created a stream of chances while restricting the Nerazurri largely to attempts from distance. Youthful virtuoso Nico Paz had a part in both goals, forcing a save that led to Alex Valle’s opener and sending an angled finish that doubled the lead.
