Coming in as a replacement in the second tournament, M. Sendilkumar fought his way to a 6-7(6), 6-0, 6-3 victory over Gwar Si of Myanmar in the first round of the Asian under-14 tennis tournament at the DLTA Complex on Monday.
In the girls’ section, Srishti Kiran had a 6-0, 6-2 win over Amanda Teng of Malaysia.
The results (first round): Under-14 boys: M. Sendilkumar bt Gwar Si (Mya) 6-7(6), 6-0, 6-3; Viraj Choudhary bt Ismoiljon Tursunov (Uzb) 6-2, 6-3.
Under-14 girls: Srishti Kiran bt Amanda Teng (Mas) 6-0, 6-2.
