The Madras High Court, on Wednesday (January 5, 2025) directed Chennai-based Tractors and Farm Equipment (TAFE) Limited and Massey Ferguson Corporation based in the United States, to maintain status quo until the disposal of a civil suit related to a dispute over the usage of the trademark ‘Massey Ferguson’ by TAFE.

In October last year, TAFE said it had secured an interim relief from the Madras High Court in its favour in the dispute with Massey Ferguson. In its civil suit before the High Court against the AGCO subsidiary, TAFE claimed the trademarks were distinctive and exclusively owned by it in India.
