Kannada actor Shivarajkumar, who had travelled to the US to undergo surgery, is doing well after the operation, said doctors. The actor is currently under observation in a Miami-based hospital.
“Shivanna’s surgery went very well,” said Dr. Murugesh Manoharan in a video message. “His cancerous bladder has been removed, leading to a complete clearance of his disease. An artificial bladder was recreated using his intestine,” the doctor added.
“He (Shivarajkumar) is mentally strong. He is doing very well after the surgery. We expect him to recover quickly and get back to normalcy in two weeks,” said Dr. Manoharan.
Fans told not to panic
Geetha Shivarajkumar, Shivarajkumar’s wife, thanked people for their “blessings and prayers.” Madhu Bangarappa, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, asked fans not to panic about the entire episode. “Due to some protocols, we might not be able to provide consistent updates. We request people to wait with patience until we provide them with the next information,” he said.
Shivarajkumar, last seen in the hit prequel Bhairathi Ranagal, opened up about his health situation during the movie’s promotions. The actor didn’t disclose details about his illness. “I have a health problem, and I am currently undergoing treatment for it. I will be back to film-related activities a month after my surgery,” he said.
Niveditha Shivarajukumar, producer and Shivarajkumar’s daughter, said in a statement, “I express my gratitude to Dr. Murugesh Manoharan at Miami Healthcare. I also thank fans, friends, members of the media, and family. My father has been a pillar of strength. We continue to keep you updated about his recovery.”

The 62-year-old actor has a slew of films lined up. In addition to an untitled project with Karthik Adwaith, Shivarajkumar is set to work with director Srini on A for Anand, an untitled project with Pawan Wadeyar and Hemanth M. Rao’s Bhairavana Konea Paata. He is also awaiting the release of 45, directed by Arjun Janya and starring Upendra and Raj B. Shetty.
