U.S. President Donald Trump said in a Truth Social ‌post on Sunday (April 19, 2026) ‌that ‌representatives are going to Islamabad, Pakistan, “tomorrow night” for Iran negotiations. Two Indian ships were amongst more than a dozen fired upon by the IRGC on Saturday, leading India to call in the Iranian Ambassador and convey its protest.

In the post, Mr. Trump said “Iran decided to fire bullets yesterday in the Strait of Hormuz — A Total Violation of our Ceasefire Agreement! Many of them were aimed at a French Ship, and a Freighter from the United Kingdom. That wasn’t nice, was it?”
