Lodha Developers Ltd. has announced to invest an additional ₹1 lakh crore in a data centre park in Maharashtra.
On January 19, Abhishek Lodha, MD and CEO of Lodha Developers, signed an MoU with the government of Maharashtra committing ₹1 lakh crore in the backdrop of World Economic Forum at Davos.
Four months ago, the company had signed a memorandum of understanding worth ₹30,000 crore with the Maharashtra government to develop a data centre park in the state.
With the total investment of ₹1.3 lakh crore in an approximately 2.5 gigawatt data centre park, it is slated to be the largest in the country, the company said.
Amazon had already acquired land parcel for its data centre and made arrangements for its power requirement for the next 15 years. Singapore-based STT Global Data Centres had also acquired a land parcel in the park.
“Over and above the ₹30,000 crore commitment last year to develop the data centre park, we have signed another agreement with Government of Maharashtra to invest additional ₹1 lakh crore,” said Abhishek Lodha, MD and CEO of Lodha Developers Ltd.
